DONIPHAN - “Bernie” Bernard W. Cosgriff, 92 of rural Doniphan, died Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at CHI Health-St. Francis.

Mass of Christian Burial for family and close friends will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 26th at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Doniphan.  Celebrants will be Father Adam Sughroue and Father John Sullivan.  Livestreaming will be at All Faiths Funeral Home Facebook page.  Burial will be in the Cedarview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Monday with the Rosary beginning at 6 PM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.  To help protect others, facemasks are required at both visitation and the funeral Mass.  Memorials are suggested to the Cedarview Cemetery Association.

All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Bernie was born on February 13, 1928 in Grand Island the son of John and Marie (Schimmer) Cosgriff.  He was raised on the family farm in Hall County attending School District 19 and graduating from Grand Island Senior High class of 1945.  

On February 23, 1952 he was united in marriage to Lola Denman.  This union was blessed with four daughters, Sally, Nancy, Glenda and Theresa.  Bernie farmed with his father and later with his brother Harold.

Some of his enjoyments included dancing with his bride of 68 years, playing cards with the card club and spending time with family.  Memberships included St. Ann’s Catholic Church, the Farmers Union Board, the Platt Duetsche and the Liederkranz.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lola; children, Sally (Gordon) Graf of Doniphan, Nancy Larson of Doniphan, Glenda Lueders of Grand Island and Theresa (Doug) DeVries of Trumbull; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a great great-grandchild and another on the way and sisters-in-law, Caroline Denman and Margaret Cosgriff.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold.
